7 Steps To A More Fulfilling Life

Personal Development

If you want to prepare yourself for self-improvement there are 7 questions you should ask yourself.

Everyone should attain his full potential in this life and should work hard to do it. But to do that you need to be fully determined and committed to get the things you really want, and to be like that you need to have a strong motivation that would keep you going, day after day. It’s not easy to keep pushing ahead, when you can’t even see if the outcome will be positive in the end. You have to trust yourself and be motivated to achieve whatever you want.

happy-woman I find that the bigger motivation of them all is to want to do something bigger than YOU – to go on a mission and to do something    meaningful.

No matter how big the troubles in our lives, we should not give up our aspirations. If we feel our goal in life is to become something then we should do our best to achieve that goal, or we’ll never feel we have a fulfilled life. I believe that before you start going on your mission, you must first really understand yourself – what other your strengths and weaknesses. This way you can make sure you don’t start walking on a wrong path during your journey.

1. So what is your goal in life?

This is the biggest question in philosophy – “why am I here?” You may want to do lots and lots of things in life but you only have so little time to do them all. In the end you must make a choice and stick with it for better or worse – if it’s really something you want. You will discover that you can control your whole destiny through the decisions you take in life. Nothing happens at random, but all that happens to you in present time is only a reflection of what you did in the past, and what will happen to you in the future is a reflection of what you are currently doing. So make your current decisions count. Find something that you are good at and become excellent at it. The rewards will come eventually and they will be great.

2. Do I have to change?

Changing is the bare definition of growth. You cannot grow if you do not change. It’s as simple as that. If you want to stay at the same level forever by not changing and improving, then you cannot grow. But change comes with a price – pain. We don’t like change because we don’t like feeling the pain of change. And the pain refers to a number of things – changing your old habits, learning new things, getting out of your comfort zone. If you want to be successful in life you need to embrace change and move forward with it, instead of fighting it find out what you truly want and do all the necessary changes to get there.

3. Is there a positive side to this?

I believe everything there is has a positive side and a negative side. Even the thing you might want most, say becoming wealthy, has its downsides. And even being poor is considered by some positive because they can live a simpler and more spiritual life. So it’s really how you look at things that makes or breaks you. If something bad happens to you, you should always think about the positive side of it – how is that not just a threat, but an opportunity for you? When you start thinking like that, you’re not only happier about life in general, but you also achieve more because you act on the “opportunities” you see – instead of just being scared of certain situations. It’s important to become aware  of your fears and to overcome them  to live life at its fullest.

4.  Do I really want to leave my comfort zone?

Whenever you feel comfortable with something, when you think you know it all about a certain subject, it means you’re not growing. And what happens when you don’t grow? You stay behind. If you want to be really successful you must always push ahead and improve every single day.

5. When should I stop?

Part of being human is that you’ll always want more. Not necessarily more of the same thing, but also more different things. And this is really what made the human race to evolve so much as society and in technology for thousands of years.

6. Should I be happy with where I am today?

Sure you could be a good mom or dad, for example, but if you tried to be better wouldn’t that benefit your children even more? This is how it works with everything else. The more you do for yourself, the more you end up helping others as well, and living a more fulfilling life.

7. Am I attractive enough?

It’s all about the inside, and I don’t mean just that if you have a good personality people will like you anyway, but what I really mean is that if you like yourself – so will others. If you respect yourself very little, what makes you think others will want to respect you or like you more?
